Originating in Ottawa, in 1868, with informal meetings of a few youthful patriots,”canada First” was the name and slogan of a movement to promote nationalist sentiment. Its founding members were Charles Mair, Henry Morgan, William Foster, G.T.Denison and R.G.Haliburton. By then “Canada First” had the support of such influential figures as Edward Blake and Goldwin Smith. Though the movement’s political influence soon waned, its expression of a popular Canadian ideal had enduring significance.
Canada first movement was re-launched on 15th February, 2023 as a nonpolitical, non-partisan and secular movement that will act to place Canada in the first position in peace, prosperity and wellness. Canada first movement is now working to uphold Canada’s commitment for right of speech and human rights for all. CFM is also working to highlight Canada’s achievement in fighting back the adverse effects of climate change.
Canada FIRST Movement has been carrying a campaign titled “Canada FIRST” campaign that is a nonpolitical movement with aims to prioritize Canadian interests above all else. The campaign focuses on issues such as job creation, economic growth, and national security. The goal of the campaign is to promote Canadian values and ensure that Canada remains a strong and prosperous nation. One of the key objectives of the “Canada FIRST” campaign is to create jobs for Canadians. This involves promoting policies that encourage businesses to invest in Canada and hire Canadian workers. The campaign also seeks to reduce unemployment by providing training and education programs for Canadians.
Another important aspect of the “Canada FIRST” campaign is economic growth. The campaign advocates for policies that promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and trade. This includes investing in research and development, reducing taxes for businesses, and negotiating favorable trade deals with other countries. National security is also a top priority for the “Canada FIRST” campaign. The campaign seeks to strengthen Canada’s military and intelligence capabilities to protect against threats both at home and abroad. This includes increasing funding for defense and intelligence agencies, as well as improving border security measures. Overall, the “Canada FIRST” campaign is focused on promoting Canadian interests and ensuring that Canada remains a strong and prosperous nation. While there
may be differing opinions on specific policies or approaches, the goal of putting Canada first is one that many Canadians can support.
